The city of New York, one of the first in the world in the use of intelligent technologies, is moving faster and faster towards digital transformation and the use of IoT technology in educational and political contexts. The objectives in which the city has invested heavily are:
reducing water consumption by using rainwater and recycling gray water from kitchens and laundries;
the minimization of electricity consumption for urban lighting by using LED lights and sensors;
improvement of the waste service;
the activation of programs aimed at monitoring the quality of the air by integrating green spaces. The New York City's Green Revolution program fits into this context, in which an important role is also played by satellites dedicated to the control and identification of green areas in the city in order to improve them and thus safeguard the public health and the well-being of citizens.
